Day 01 : Delhi To Sarahan
Driving from Delhi to Sarahan is the first leg of your journey, 480 km away. Rest there, relax a little, and explore Saharan. Gaze at the panoramic views of the mist-laden hills and valleys & winds up at the Bhima Devi Temple. Return to your hotel for dinner.
Day 02 : Sarahan To Kadcham Dham
Early the next morning, set off for Spiti. En route, capture the most majestic views as you drive to Chitkul, famed to be the last inhabited village close to the Indo-China border. As you near the lake and your campsite, there are more scenic views to be captured on the camera. Chitkul village’s mesmerizing beauty is sure to stay with you for a long time. But now, it’s time to check out the nearby Kadcham Dam and the bustling market area. Return to your campsite for dinner. You should try camping near the Baspa River around a bonfire, chatting with your friends. The chatter around you and the night time views of the mountains is a heady combination, never to be found anywhere else. Day 03 : Kadcham Dham To Kalpa
Next-Day is all about setting off for the beautiful hill town of Kalpa in Himachal Pradesh. If you’re on a budget, you can check into the Himachal Tourism Guest House and enjoy its comforts. Ready to go? Today, you’re closer to your destination as you make your Spiti Valley Tour in Toyota Innova. Day 04 : Kalpa To Kaza
Now, it’s time to move on to a century-old Buddhist monastery and other sights. Return to the guest house and check out the spectacular vistas of the Kinnaur Kailash Peak just outside your window. With breakfast done, it’s time to head for Kaza, this being the longest stretch of road on your entire journey. En route, visit the Nako Monastery, Gue Monastery, the DhankarGompa in Dhankar village, and the Tabo Monastery before the Kaza signpost is actually visible. Very soon, you will reach your destination, Spiti. Check into the Guest House. For lunch, go to Café Sol and bite into local delicacies there. Retire for the day and the next morning; be greeted by the stunning views of Spiti Valley while you munch on breakfast. On your first day of sightseeing here, head for Langza and then go on to Komikthrough Kibber, the world’s highest motorable village situated at 14,200 feet above sea level.
Day 05: Kaza
Among the sights to visit here is the Hikkim Post Office. Among the local wildlife, keep an eye out for the Himalayan Ibex and then move on to visit the famous Key Monastery and its amazing architecture. Also, check out the Komik Monastery with its typical regional architecture. Indulge in Tibetan, Italian and Indian cuisine & then return to your Kaza guest house.
Day 06 : Kaza To Spiti Valley
Next morning, after breakfast, continue your Spiti Valley Tour by driving to your next destination--Chandra Taal. Driving past the lake for at least 20 km will give you amazing scenic views until you reach the Kunzum Pass and the nearby Kunzum Mata Mandir. By afternoon, reach the camp at Chandra Taal Lake and check into Parasol Camp. Spend time by the lake and return to your campsite by evening. Gaze into the night at your campsite and enjoy the silence, the twinkling stars and the serene lake nearby. Make an early morning start for Manali, as you return home. At Gramphu, come face to face with the never-seen-before vistas of Lahaul Valley. Keep driving till you stop at Rohtang Pass to enjoy the unique views and snowfall. At Manali, go for a leisurely stroll on Mall Road and check out these upmarket cafes: Il Forno Cafe (Italian cuisine) and Johnson’s Cafe (Indian, Italian, Indian and European cuisine).
Day 07 : Spiti To Manali
Day 08 : Manali To Delhi
Next morning, make your descent down the hills as you leave Manali for Delhi, stopping on the way for food. Return to Delhi, 14 hours away by road, where your trip comes to an end.
